Gourmet Burger Kitchen has been rescued from administration by food industry mogul Ranjit Singh Boparan, securing over 660 jobs in the process.
Later that month, Gourmet Burger Kitchen revealed plans to close 17 restaurants. In October 2020, it was announced that Ranjit Singh Boparan had acquired the company from administration. However, as part of the agreement, 26 restaurants would stay closed, resulting in the loss of 362 jobs, while 35 locations would continue operating.
